Lyrics

Haye Ni Teri Gall Da Toya
Vekh Ke Kuch Te Hoya
Raat Na Soya Soya
Dard Na Jaave Ni

Aas Main Laake Baitha
Gali Mein Aake Baitha
Main Paani Jaise Behta
Nazar Jad Aavegi

Ni Mera Dil Je Na Laggeya
Te Te Ilzaam Laga Dena
Tera Din Jeha Mukhda Ni
Zulf Nu Raat Da Naam Dena

O Tere Kann Di Baali Ne
Sutta Ishq Jaga Dena
Teriyaan Neeliyan Akhiyaan Ne
Ni Koi Dard Nawa Dena

Haye Baataan Karda Main Tere
Zehen Nu Padh Jaavan
Je Pata Lag Jaye Te
Main Paagal Mar Jaavan

Har Adaa Teri,
Tere Haasе Vekhan Layi
Chhad Zamaane Nu
Ni Main Terе Ghar Aavan

Ho Tere Surkh Je Haase Ne
Tere Dil Da Raah De Dena
Tera Din Jeha Mukhda Ni
Zulf Nu Raat Da Naam Dena

O Tere Kann Di Baali Ne
Sutta Ishq Jaga Dena
Teriyaan Neeliyan Akhiyaan Ne
Ni Koi Dard Nawa Dena

Tu Ijaazat De Ve Te
Chumm Lava Palkan Nu Main
Rakh Deyan Tere Hath Te
Dil Te Aan Marjan Nu Main

Hass Ke Laavan Seene Te
Ishq De Dardan Nu Main
Shayari Tu Ae Meri
Bunn Lava Tarzan Nu Main

Oh Haye Raj Deewane Ne
Tainu Geet Bana Dena
Ho Tera Din Jeha Mukhda Ni
Zulf Nu Raat Da Naam Dena

Ni Mera Dil Je Na Labbeya
Tere Te Ilzaam Laga Dena
Tera Din Jeha Mukhda Ni
Zulf Nu Raat Da Naam Dena

O Tere Kann Di Bali Ne
Sutta Ishq Jaga Dena
Teriyaan Neeliyan Akhiyaan Ne
Ni Koi Dard Nawa Dena

Charmer Lyrics — English Translation & Meaning

Oh, that dimple in your cheek —
seeing it, something happened to me
I have not slept at night,
and the ache will not leave

I sat here full of hope,
I came and sat in your street
I flow away like water
the moment you come into view

If my heart will not settle,
then I will lay the blame on you
Your face is like the daytime —
so I will give your hair the name of night

Oh, that earring of yours
will wake a sleeping love
Those blue eyes of yours
will hand out some brand-new ache

Oh, while I am talking with you
I read your mind
And if you were ever to find out,
I would go mad and die

Every gesture of yours —
just to see you laugh,
I would leave the world behind
and come to your house

Oh, those crimson smiles of yours
will give away the road to your heart
Your face is like the daytime —
so I will give your hair the name of night

Oh, that earring of yours
will wake a sleeping love
Those blue eyes of yours
will hand out some brand-new ache

If you grant me permission
I will kiss your eyelids
I will place upon your hands
this heart and the dying it owes you

Smiling, I will press against my chest
all the pains of love
You are my poetry —
let me weave the melody for it

Oh, these besotted kings
will turn you into a song
Your face is like the daytime —
so I will give your hair the name of night

If I cannot find my heart,
I will lay the blame on you
Your face is like the daytime —
so I will give your hair the name of night

Oh, that earring of yours
will wake a sleeping love
Those blue eyes of yours
will hand out some brand-new ache

About "Charmer" by Diljit Dosanjh

The best line in "Charmer" is also its neatest piece of logic: "Tera din jeha mukhda ni, zulf nu raat da naam dena" — your face is like the day, so I will give your hair the name of night. It is a compliment constructed as a naming ceremony, and the whole song works in that register, assigning names and blame rather than simply describing.

Note how much of the lyric is conditional and accusatory in a playful way. If my heart will not settle, I will blame you. If I cannot find my heart, I will blame you. Your earring will wake a sleeping love; your blue eyes will issue a new pain. The beloved is never doing anything — it is always her jewellery, her eyes, her smile acting on their own, with her held responsible afterwards.

The one genuinely vulnerable moment comes in the middle and is immediately walled off: while talking to her he can read her mind, and if she ever discovered that, he would go mad and die. The confession is that he knows too much, not that he feels too much.

This is Punjabi, not Hindi, and the distinction matters to the texture — the ni and ve address particles, the Jatt-pop cadence, and the folk convention of naming a beloved's features as day and night all belong to that tradition rather than to Hindi film romance.
